Amazon’s Mars Rover documentary “Good Night Oppy” hits theaters this fall

Exclusive: Today, in honor of National Space Day, Amazon Original Films released a documentary directed by Ryan White. Operation Silent Night November 4 in theaters November 23 on Prime Video around the world.

Produced by Jessica Hargrave, Daryl Frank, Justin Fell, Brandon Carroll and Matthew Goldberg, the film tells the true story of Opportunity, a rover sent on a 90-day mission to Mars but which ultimately survived for 15 years. The film tells the story of Opportunity’s groundbreaking journey to Mars and the extraordinary connection between a robot and its humans millions of miles away.

Executive producers are Max Wagner, Stephen Neal and Ryan Shiavo.

White said: “We have worked closely with our partners at Industrial Light & Magic to create visual effects that will take audiences to Mars, so I am thrilled to Operation Silent Night It will air in theaters and on Prime Video. Oppy and his team at JPL deserve to bring their story to the big screen and reach the widest possible audience.
