In the past Netflix has proven that they don’t mind canceling a series if this does not reach the success estimated by its production, the perfect examples are ‘1899’, ‘Warrior Nun’ or ‘Destiny: The Winx Saga’ and now that season 4 part 2 is about to hit the screen, the story of Joe Goldberg in ‘YOU’ is in danger.

When the third season of ‘YOU’, Netflix confirmed that there would be a fourth installment days before audiences enjoyed the new chapters, thus ensuring its success for another two years, but this case was not repeated with the premiere of the fourth season on February 9, in is been divided into two installments as happened with ‘Stranger Things’.

The second part of season 4 of “YOU” opens on March 9 and it seems that Netflix will wait until a few days after its debut, to evaluate whether it is worth continuing with this story in a fifth installment, although the truth is that at the moment nothing is confirmed and it could very well be cancelled.

On social networks, many users have pointed out that the new story of “YOU” in season 4 is too different from the previous ones, which is true because the protagonist goes from being a stalker to being the main victim of a psychopath. puts a different spin on the essence of the story, something many loved but others not so much.

The repercussion of this was clearly seen in the fame of the Netflix series which, in the past, had spent several weeks in the first position of the top 10 and season 4 part 1 only managed to hold this position for its first weekend, putting in clear that it was not as successful as before.

Will there be a fifth season of “YOU” on Netflix?

The fact that Netflix has not yet announced season 5, and that obviously number 4 has not been as successful as others, it is expected that the second part of this new story will have enough to attract the attention of the public and thus add the necessary stats so the streaming giant doesn’t cancel it.

However, it is too early to confirm that either of these two scenarios could occur and for the moment there is no other choice but to wait for the premiere of the second part of the season 4 of “YOU” to evaluate its performance in the first few weeks and then know if Netflix plans to continue the story or send it to oblivion with other canceled.
