Amazon Studios has released the first teaser trailer for the Prime Video series adaptation David Cronenbergthe 1988 psychological thriller, Dead players. The series is the protagonist Rachel Weisz who takes on the dual roles of twins Elliot and Beverly Mantle.

The trailer isn’t very long, but there seems to be a lot of excitement for this show, and I’m sure those who can’t wait to watch it will be interested in seeing the first footage of Weisz as these two characters. While the story is interesting, Weisz’s involvement is definitely one of the main strengths of the series.
The twins share it all: “Drugs, lovers, and an unapologetic desire to do whatever it takes, including pushing the boundaries of medical ethics, in an effort to challenge antiquated practices and bring women’s healthcare to the forefront.”
The ensemble cast of the series includes Britney Oldford (The Umbrella Academy, American Horror Story: Asylum) as Genevieve, Poppy Liu (Hack, iCarly) like Greta, Michael Cernus (Separation, orange is the new black) like Tom, Jennifer Ehle (Zero Dark Thirty, Saint Maud) as Rebecca, e Emilia Meade (The Deuce, the leftovers) as Susan.
The show’s directors include Sean Durkin (Martha Marcy May Marlene, The Nest, The Iron Claw), Karyn Kusama (Jennifer’s body, Girlfight), Karena Evans (P-valley, snowfall), AND Lauren Wolkstein (A family friend, Y: The Last Man).
Dead players premiering on Prime Video on April 21.
