Deadline has confirmed that the film is based on the comic of the same name and in that story written by the creator Mike Mignola with late art Richard CorbenHellboy goes to Virginia in the 1950s to confront some witches, and along the way, he runs into The Crooked Man along the way. Mignola and horror/fantasy author Christopher Golden will receive story credit for this new movie.

We also learned that Hellboy will team up with a rookie BPRD agent and they find themselves stranded in rural 1950s Appalachia. “There they discover a small community haunted by witches, led by a local devil with an eerie connection to Hellboy’s past: the Crooked Man.” The story “will expand the world of Hellboy through one of the most beloved issues of the comic series.”

Millennium Media President Jeffrey Greenstein said in a statement, “The Crooked Man is a departure from all previous Hellboy films in which Mike Mignola and the creator of the comics will finally lead an authentic version of his stories and characters. in the form of movies. This is the first in a series of films that will captivate audiences in familiar (and new) ways. Brian Taylor is an expert across the board and I couldn’t think of a better person to bring this story to life to show our audiences this diverse and original Hellboy film franchise.

So, they really hope this movie works, so they can make more of it. I wish them luck because the last Hellboy movie was not good at all. They can only really go up from there.

Production on the film will start next month in Bulgaria and they are in the process of locking down the cast. Are you excited about this latest attempt to reboot the Hell boy franchise?
