Orlando Bloom (The Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean) will star in the boxing thriller Cuttingby the director Sean Ellis (Anthropoid). Bloom will play a boxer who comes out of retirement in the psychological thriller to compete for his title of champion through a grueling and unauthorized weight reduction program with a trainer who knows no bounds, alienating himself from reality and loved ones as he spirals out of control .
The adapted screenplay is written by Justin Bull (Little Rituals), based on a short story by Marco Lane. Filming is expected to begin in the summer of 2023 in Nevada.
Bloom recently wrapped production Gran Turismowhich will be distributed by Sony Pictures, and A24’s Wizards!. Recent credits include Retaliation AND The Outpostand will soon be seen in Amazon’s second season Carnival rowof which he is also executive producer.
