Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantummania will introduce the next big bad guy in the MCU, Kang The Conqueror. He’ll be an insanely dangerous and sinister villain, and the trailers for the film have only given fans a small taste of just how treacherous this villain is.
Kang is played by Jonathan Majorand in a recent interview with Total film, the actor talks about the character and offers some additional insight into the villain, including how smart he is and how he’s “Kang against the world.” More explains:
“I mean, he’s hyper-intelligent—it’s one of the superpowers. His brain function is just above that of even smart kids. He’s at that level. And gravitas is a necessity. It’s Kang against the world, isn’t it? At least that’s his point of view. There is no frivolity. Kang himself is very thrifty. He understands energy, he understands time, he understands what it takes to survive. He can’t stand fools. Which is interesting because he doesn’t say anything pejorative about Ant-Man, but Ant-Man is a prankster. He’s a funny guy. And now there’s Scott Lang taking on Kang the Conqueror, who’s not kidding. He’s got a sense of humor. find out. But he’s not kidding.
Paul Rudd he also teases Ant-Man taking on the biggest villain in the MCU since Thanos snapped his fingers, saying:
“He’s a formidable foe – the understatement of the century. Scott has never faced anyone like this. It’s Kang the Conqueror! Thanos is obviously the closest but, yes, he has none of the others [Avengers] band with him. How do you stop someone like that? It’s not easy. Whether or not Scott is successful, people are going to see it…but I think hopefully the emotion, and wanting to do what he’s trying to do, makes sense to the audience. I hope they’re rooting for me.”
I’m not entirely sure how Ant-Man, The Wasp, and the rest of the family are going to escape this villain. It will be a lot of fun to watch this next Marvel story unfold!
In the film, “superhero partners Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne (Evangelina Lilli) return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and the Wasp. Together, with Hope’s parents, Hank Pym (Michele Douglas) and Janet Van Dyne (Michael Pfeiffer), the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures, and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought was possible.
Directed by Peyton Reed and produced by Kevin Feigepga and Stephen Brussardpga, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantummania even stars David Dastmalchian like Veb, Katy O’Brian like Jentorra, William Jackson Harper like Quaz and Bill Murray as Lord Krylar.
The sci-fi adventure will be released in theaters on February 17, 2023.
