With this year’s box office earnings expected to top $9 billion, it’s natural for major Hollywood studios to take Super Bowl LVII advertising seriously.

The big game, which drew 112 million viewers last year, continues to be a huge megaphone when it comes to drawing attention to your tentpole films — and this year, starting with Disney/Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, have a lot. So if you’re a studio looking to create buzz and separate your film from the lineup of event films that take place every weekend from late February through September, your best bet is to shell out a record $7 million for a 30-second spot the February 12 Fox telecast of the Kansas City Chiefs vs. Philadelphia Eagles showdown.

In recent years — before and after the pandemic — Super Bowl trailers have become events in their own right. Studios often release a few of them before the game starts before they drop a little longer on Sunday. The spoils take place on social media after the game on Monday, as many catch up on the broadcast trailers; last year, Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness was the most viewed spot on social media in the 24 hours after the LA Rams defeated the Bengals with 93 million views according to RelishMix – this film earned $187, the highest theatrical release in the US and Canada last year 0.4 million and the third – highest of the year with a backlog of $411 million Top Gun: Maverick ($718.3 million) and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever ($436.4 million) gross for the calendar year.

One big thing this year: Warner Bros., which has typically sat on the sidelines in previous Super Bowls, is expected to have a spot for DC’s June 16 release the lightning, comic studio co-head James Gunn called it “probably one of the best superhero movies of all time.” Starring Ezra Miller, the picture is meant to reset the DC universe.

Universal always makes it to the Super Bowl for them Fast & Furious Franchise. In 2020, when no one expected a pandemic during the game, the studio prepared a Miami concert trailer for the F9 Preview debut. This year, on February 9, it throws one Quick X Party at the LA Live Event Deck with Star Vin Diesel and cast for the world premiere of the tenth trailer. Quick X opens on May 19

Since the university started its big campaign Quick X on Super Bowl Sunday, they are already two spots into their campaign for Illumination’s Easter weekend release on April 7 Movie Super Mario Bros. So don’t expect plumbers.

Always part of the pigskin show, Disney expects nothing less from them this year as they are about to promote spots for Marvel Studios. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (February 17), Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (May 5), The little mermaid (May 26), Pixar Elementary (June 16) and possibly Indiana Jones and the Wheel of Fortune (June 30) and Marvel Studios’ The wonders (July 28). No spaces for Disney+s Secret invasion expected.

The Heineken is already in the air and is cross-branded Quantum mania Post below, already 26 million views on YouTube:

Paramount also has a rich history with the Super Bowl. This year we heard there is room for it scream VI (March 10), Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves (March 31) and Transformers: Rise of the Beasts (June 9). Not to be expected: a trailer in front Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning part one (July 14). Paramount had one for that Mission: Impossible Fallout back during the 2018 Super Bowl.

We’ve also heard that there will be a 15-second pre-game spot for the Elizabeth Banks-directed thriller cocaine bear. The movie will be released on February 24.

As with the aforementioned studios, Amazon/MGM and Lionsgate declined to comment on their plans. However, it wouldn’t be shocking if one of them was present during the Big Game. Amazon had a place for them lord of the rings series last year and MGM had one for it No time to die in 2020. So it wouldn’t be surprising if United Artists Releasing’s Creed III (Release March 3) or as Lionsgate’s John Wick: Chapter 4 (March 24) impressed. The last franchise had a place for it John Wick: Chapter 2 at the Super Bowl 2017.

Like last year, Sony will not air movie trailers during the Super Bowl. The last time Sony lost a place in Big Game was in 2017 with the Ryan Reynolds-Jake Gyllenhaal sci-fi film Life.
