Sounds like such a bizarre casting, but it’s true! Lovitz revealed this piece of movie trivia on Rob Lowe’s podcast, Literally! with Rob Lowe, a couple of years ago. Not long after, Bruckheimer took to the podcast and confirmed the information.

The film was staged at Disney Studios, and this iteration of the film went as far as a screen test with Michael Bay himself before it, according to Bruckheimer, fell apart because Dana Carvey dropped out. The producer explained:

“There are different stories about what happened. There’s Jon’s version and there’s other people’s versions. But the movie was never made with Jon and anyone else.

That didn’t stop Bruckheimer from pursuing the project Michael Bay, which until then had only made commercials. When it comes to Bay, it is explained due to her background working with advertising clients, “she figured out how to deal with the studio and how to make them feel like they were getting what they wanted, and ended up doing a great job. “

He did! Bay made a great Bad Boys movie that was a lot of fun to watch! The big question is, would the movie have been as successful and would it have been great if Lovitz and Carvey actually starred in it? Or would it have failed, ending Bay’s feature filmmaking career before it had even begun?

The year before the release of Bad Boys, Carvey and Lovitz starred in a film called Trapped in Paradise with Nicolas Cage, which was a box office hit and was the last Carvey film in which he had a role from hero.
