James Cameron teases the element of fire in AVATAR 3 and reveals two new cultures it will introduce

How Avatar: The Way of Water continues to dominate the box office nearing $2 billion worldwide, director James Cameron is teasing elements of the next installment in the franchise.

During a quick chat with Deadline on the Critics Choice Awards red carpet, Cameron shared a bit of new information about Avatars 3 teasing the fire element of the film and revealing that two new cultures would be introduced. He said:

“Fire has a symbolic purpose in the film and there’s a culture that revolves around that concept. He’s probably saying too much as we speak.

Cameron previously spoke a bit about the depiction of fire Avatars 3said:

“To show different cultures than the ones I’ve already shown. The fire will be represented by the “Ash People”. I want to reveal the Na’vi from another angle because, for the moment, I have only shown their good sides. In the early films there are very negative human examples and very positive Na’vi examples. In Avatar 3, we will have the opposite.

The director then revealed that two more new cultures will be introduced in the upcoming film, saying:

“In the next film you will meet two completely new cultures. We’ve met the Omaticaya, we’ve met the Metkayina, and in the next film, you’ll meet two new cultures, roaming a little more freely in Pandora’s world in different places.”

Cameron’s wife Suzy Amis then chimed in to say, “You need a very secure seat belt,” and Cameron finished by saying, “it’s a rocket sled.” You can check out the video below.

Avatars 3 it is currently scheduled for release on December 20, 2024
