Who’s to say it’s already been 30 years since Power Rangers has made an impact on popular culture, with one of the series most remembered by those who grew up in the 90s and 2000s. And to remember those moments from so long ago, now the original heroes will return in a franchise special celebrating the show’s 30th anniversary.
This 2023 marks the Power Rangers 30th Anniversary, the super-sentai series that marked the childhood of many in the nineties. Now, the original Rangers will return for an emotional special, starring Walter Jones, David Yost, Catherine Sutherland, Steve Cardenas, DeSantos, Karan Ashley and Johnny Yong Bosch, in their respective roles.
will be next April 19 when it will premiere ‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once and Forever’, through the Netflix platform. The special will reunite much of the original cast from the three seasons, to once again face Rita Repulsa, who will be played by Barbara Goodson, the same actress from the original installment.
The special of Power Rangers will also serve as a tribute to Jason David Frankwhich gave life to Tommy Oliver, the green and white Ranger of the first seasons, who passed away last November 2022. In addition, it will also contain Richard Horvitz, the voice of Alpha 5 and Charlie Kersh, the daughter of Trini Kwan, who gave life to the first yellow ranger.

The absences of the Power Rangers special
Many fans of the franchise will be happy to hear that much of the cast is back to celebrate 30 years of one of the longest running franchises on television. However, there are also some absences in the Power Rangers special, starting with Jason David Frank, who took his own life last year, and who will always be remembered for playing Tommy Oliver until his last days.
Also missing is Thuy Trang, who gave birth to the Yellow Ranger better known as Trini Kwan, who died in a car accident in 2001. Also missing is Austin St. John, who gave birth to the original Red Ranger from the first season, named Jason Lee Scott, who has retired from acting and is now a paramedic.
And finally Amy Jo Johnson, who gave birth to the Pink Ranger, better known as Kimberly Hart, who also will not appear in the special. It’s unknown why she didn’t want to participate in the return of the Power Rangers, but it will be a good memory for all those who have had this series as a part of their lives.
