EXCLUSIVE: Byron Allen’s Allen Media Group Motion Pictures has screenwriter Evan Daugherty (else) to write the sci-fi action feature, The ultimate weapon. The film, based on a story by Allen, is financed by AMGMP, with Allen, Carolyn Folks, Jennifer Lucas and Matthew Signer serving as executive producers.
The ultimate weapon takes place in a version of the present where World War II is not yet over. In fact, history has shown us that the Nazis did indeed research a far greater weapon than the atomic bomb and invested heavily in the possibility of time travel. Pic sees them using this ability to travel to the present to bring back technology that would allow them to win the war in the past. Countering the Nazis is a NATO-backed team with the technology to determine when to break into the present. The team assembled an elite group of super-agents to stop the Nazis from taking technology back in time with the sole purpose of ensuring that the Allies remain the victors of World War II.
AMGMP’s EVP of production and content, Signer, will oversee the project with fellow EPs Allen, Folks and Lucas.
“THE SUPERIOR WEAPON has all the elements of an engaging and exciting non-stop story-based epic action/thriller,” said Allen, founder, chairman and CEO of Allen Media Group. “Writer Evan Daugherty is a phenomenally talented actor with the cinematic vision needed to bring this story to the big screen and we are thrilled to have him on board.”
Daugherty adds, “When Byron first pitched this idea to me, I immediately saw the incredible potential. I love WWII movies, I love time travel movies, and it goes without saying that I’m obsessed with action. Together with the Allen Media team, we will merge these genres and create a film unlike anything audiences have seen before.”
Daugherty broke up Snow White and the Huntsman, which he wrote as a student at NYU and sold to Universal after a bidding war in one of the biggest screenplay deals in history.
