AMC recently canceled two TV shows that had already been filmed including the second season of 61st street, which was scrapped after production was completed. Then there was Invitation to a bonfire who had filmed four out of six episodes. There are also rumors that Marvel may have canceled the Echo series after completing filming.
HBO Max has also had a number of cancellations including the Bad girl movie and Scoob! Vacation retreatwhile multiple TV shows and movies have been completely removed from the streamer, including Western world, The Neversand a bundle of hundreds of episodes of classic animated shows including Looney Tunes And The Flintstones.
DeKnight is now blasting that trend, he says Chirping: “The WGA, DGA, and SAG-AFTRA need to crack down on this practice during their next respective negotiations. Pull that shit back, face HUGE financial penalties paid to cast, crew, and creatives. Watch it go down real fast.”
It will be interesting to see if the unions end up cracking down on this. It’s so strange to me that some of these projects get scrapped because it’s a waste of time, talent and money.
