‘Thanksgiving’: Eli Roth to turn another fake ‘Grindhouse’ trailer into a movie

Sometimes a person, no matter how good they are at their job, it cannot cover everything that is put in front of it. Well, the role of ‘lifeguard friend’ in this news is played by Tim Miller, the director of ‘Terminator: Dark Fate’ and ‘Deadpool’, who has taken the reins of ‘Borderlands’, the video game adaptation that the The American director Eli Roth.

This replacement is due, as reported exclusively by Deadline, to Roth’s incompatibility with ‘Borderlands’ and ‘Thanksgiving’, two projects that he carried out simultaneously. ‘Thanksgiving’ is the fruit of a seed planted many years ago, 16 to be exact. This is the film adaptation of one of the mock trailers shown in the middle of ‘Grindhouse: Death Proof’ (directed by Quentin Tarantino) and ‘Grindhouse: Planet Terror’ (by Robert Rodriguez), the two screenings were presented under the same title and work, ‘Grindhouse’, in the purest style of the 70s.

The person in charge of making it was none other than Robert Rodriguez himself (together with Ethan Maniquis), who, after directing one of the two films screened in full, decided to transform ‘Machete’ into a delirious 105-minute film of reality.
