The story of Ant-Man and The Wasp is about to get extremely crazy in the next Marvel film Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantummania. This is one of the most anticipated films of the year and I’m quite excited to see how this story unfolds and what kind of ramifications it will have on the future of the MCU.

Star of the franchise Evangelina Lilli she recently sat down for an interview at CinePop where she discussed the franchise and the way Marvel Studios approaches difficult subjects. With Ant-Man being a story of redemption, centered around a character who was an ex-con before becoming a superhero, the actress was asked how she feels about people getting second chances, and she replied:

“Absolutely. One hundred million percent, I also believe that for the most part it is poverty that leads to crime. And so, I think whenever you look at the criminal system and you want to blame someone, I think you have to turn your head towards the system And if someone is already a victim of the economic system that isn’t working for them, they need a lot of possibilities, and they need someone to fix that economic system, so they have a chance to actually make the choices they probably want to make, but maybe I can’t.

Lilly also said she feels the upcoming Ant-Man sequel tells a story of hope and explains how impressed she is by the wise and profound messages Marvel Studios manages to weave into their film projects:

“I’m always impressed by the arguments Marvel is willing to address in a film as funny and fluffy as popcorn. You think, “I’m just having fun, it’s just funny, it’s just good old-fashioned fun,” but if you’re really paying attention to what they’re saying, they have some really profound, really wise, profound messages woven into every movie that they’re making. And they’re very intentional, you know, they know that storytelling shapes the world, and they’re one of the greatest storytellers in the world right now, and that’s a big responsibility.

Yes, you can definitely see the messages Marvel is incorporating into their films.

Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania officially kicks off Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and in it “superhero partners Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope Van Dyne (Evangelina Lilli) return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and the Wasp. Together, with Hope’s parents, Hank Pym (Michele Douglas) and Janet Van Dyne (Michael Pfeiffer), the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures, and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought was possible.

Jonathan Major he’s going to take on Kang’s role, and it’s going to be pretty sinister. Kathryn Newton will also take on the role of Cassie Lang, e Bill Murray even has a role in the movie!

Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania is once again directed by Peyton Reed from a screenplay written by Jeff Loveness. The sequel to the action-comedy superhero will be released on February 17, 2023.
