After an almost flawless filmography with ‘Midsommar’ and ‘Hereditary’, Ari Aster returns to the director’s chair to present the following year 2023, ‘Beau is fear’, his new horror film which has undergone many changes. The story stars Joaquin Phoenix, but it has now been confirmed that it will reach several countries in Latin America.
Unlike other A24 titles, such as “The Whale” or “Everything Everywhere All At Once”, “Beau is scared’ will be released in Latin America, thanks to the distribution of the A24. Cinemex and Cinépolis have confirmed that they will be getting Ari Aster’s new horror film, starring Joaquin Phoenix, so there won’t be a long wait, like in other films from the studio.
At the moment, the first confirmed countries are Mexico, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Peru, Colombia and Chile, which will have ‘Beau is scared’, official name in Spanish that the horror film will receive. For now, everything points to the A24 film hitting theaters worldwide, next year 2023, after going through a name change and some issues with the long run it was supposed to be cut to.
Now we just have to wait, since ‘Beau is scared’ does not have a release date confirmed by A24, neither in Latin America, nor in the whole world. Both theater chains mention the ‘Hereditary’ director’s film and ‘Midsommar’ is coming “very soon”, so we’ll have to wait for news of one of next year’s most promising horror films.

What is ‘Beau is Afraid’ with Joaquin Phoenix about?
Formerly known as “Disappointment Blvd”, it changed to “Beau is Afraid”, the title originally called for the project early in its production. The story with Joaquin Phoenix is an “intimate portrait that spans decades of one of the most successful businessmen of all time,” said the director, as a first tease of what to expect from his new film.
“Beau is Afraid” follows Beau through different moments in his life and experiences that would mark him forever. At the moment there are no further details regarding the plot of the film, which will star, in addition to Joaquin Phoenix, Michael Gandolfini, Amy Ryan, Kylie Rogers, Pakrer Posey, Stephen McKinley, among others.
We’ll have to wait to see if early the next year, A24 surprises with more plot details for “Beau is Afraid,” perhaps the first trailer to show more of this Ari Aster psychological drama. And of course the release date to know this film which could be one of the longest in the studio.
