Winter holiday packages to Egypt have become up to 20 percent more expensive for Russian tourists this season, according to the Association of Tour Operators of Russia.
The Russian trade group reported on its Telegram channel that Egyptian hotels raised their rates for winter stays by 10 to 20 percent compared to the previous winter season.

The price increases are most noticeable at four-star and five-star hotels operating on an all-inclusive basis. Higher rates have been applied to resort properties in both Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada.
Sharm el-Sheikh, situated on the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula, and Hurghada, located on the mainland Red Sea coast, serve as Egypt's primary beach resort hubs. Both coastal cities are major international tourist centers known for warm weather, coral reefs, and large resort complexes that cater heavily to winter vacationers from northern countries.
Discounted early booking options
Travel companies report that Russian holidaymakers can currently offset the price increases through early booking options. Promotional rates are scheduled to remain active until September 30, while select hotels will maintain early booking discounts through the end of October.
Travel agency Let's Fly noted that tourists who book trips now for the November holidays or the New Year vacation period can save between 15 and 35 percent off the total cost of a package tour.
In Russia, early November includes national holidays that create a popular autumn travel window, while the extended New Year break in early January represents one of the nation's busiest holiday periods for outbound travel.
Gen Z solo travel trends
The tariff adjustments arrive as separate travel findings identified Egypt as a leading destination for Russian Generation Z solo travelers. Egypt, Turkey, and domestic destinations within the Russian Federation were named as the top choices for young independent travelers.
The data showed that Generation Z solo travelers spend an average of 82.3 thousand rubles per individual trip.
The Association of Tour Operators of Russia acts as an industry body representing leading Russian tour companies and tracking consumer travel patterns. Egypt, along with Turkey, remains among the most frequented international vacation markets for Russian travelers who rely on all-inclusive package tours bundling flights, accommodation, and meals.
