The Blu-ray release of Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle has landed at the top of Japan’s daily Blu-ray sales chart, according to Oricon, the organisation that tracks music and video sales in the country.
The ranking, dated Saturday, August 1, 2026, placed the film’s standard edition, priced at 4,950 yen (roughly 31 dollars), at number one. The limited special edition, priced at 11,000 yen (roughly 70 dollars), came in at number two. Both versions went on sale July 29 under the Aniplex label.
The limited edition includes collector extras: a storage box featuring previously unseen artwork by character designer and animation director Akira Matsushima, a CD containing the film’s score in a movie-version arrangement, and an additional disc of behind-the-scenes material.
Where the story picks up
The film, directed by Haruo Sotozaki, picks up the story immediately after the fourth season of the anime series. It follows the Demon Slayer Corps as they enter the Infinity Castle to begin the final stage of their battle against Muzan Kibutsuji, with protagonist Tanjiro Kamado and his allies, including the Pillars, facing the Twelve Upper Moons on enemy ground.
Streaming and what comes next
The film opened in Japanese cinemas on July 18, 2025. Exactly one year later, on July 28, 2026, Crunchyroll added it to its catalogue with audio and subtitles in multiple languages. Netflix also began streaming the title the same day, though availability was limited to select Asian markets, excluding Japan, mainland China, and India.
Aniplex and Ufotable have not announced an official release date for Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 2, though it is expected to reach cinemas in 2027. The third and final film in the trilogy is projected for sometime in 2029.
