Russian television channel CTC and online streaming platform Start have released the official trailer for the sixth season of the family comedy series Daddy's Daughters New ahead of its return on October 19.
The upcoming season of the hit family show will consist of 20 episodes. The trailer was published on Start's official channel on the VK social media platform, with video rights held by Start.
The new storyline begins when Dasha impulsively accepts a job offer in the Far Eastern port city of Vladivostok after catching her rival, a psychologist named Tatyana, alone with Venik inside a motorhome. Dasha's sudden decision leaves Venik in a state of panic as he struggles to find a way to stop her from leaving.
Other plotlines in the new season follow Liza swapping places with Diana, while Sonya begins to suspect Igor of infidelity. Elsewhere, Arina fulfills a long-cherished dream belonging to the oligarch Fedotov.
Cast and production background
Filipp Bledny, Polina Denisova, Polina Ayntdinova, Vitaliya Kornienko and Eva Smirnova return to their leading roles alongside other ensemble cast members. The production is a joint project between television network CTC, one of Russia's primary commercial broadcasters, and Start, a leading Russian subscription video platform focused on original series.
The sixth season will also feature high-profile guest appearances from Russian pop singer Lusya Chebotina and actor Nikita Kologrivy, who both join the cast to play fictionalized versions of themselves.
