Cruz Beckham admits nerves ahead of Lollapalooza show

Cruz Beckham admits nerves ahead of Lollapalooza show

Singer Cruz Beckham admitted he was overcome with nerves and nearly crying before performing with his band The Breakers at Lollapalooza in Chicago on Saturday.

Nervous Cruz Beckham has revealed he was 'nearly crying' as he called his parents before Lollapalooza show as they asked him how they could stream the gig from holiday in France

The 21-year-old singer, who is currently on tour in North America, shared a behind-the-scenes video to Instagram on Monday detailing his pre-show anxiety. He confessed that festival crowds were not specifically attending to see his group perform.

The singer, 21, who is currently on tour in North America alongside his band The Breakers, took to the stage at the festival in Chicago on Saturday

"It's Lollapalooza day. I am very nervous... Just the fact that people aren't even there just to see us. That's the thing," Cruz told fans in the clip. "People are there to see other things as well. So like, this is just going to be a side quest to them. So it's got to be really, really f*****g good."

He told fans: 'I was on the phone to my mum and dad just now, and I was telling them how they can stream it and then I almost started crying over the comfort of being at home'

Cruz added that he understood his position in the industry, saying: "I mean, I'm so grateful for this opportunity. I feel like I understand the privilege that I've been given and I just want to give the best show and be able to show people who I really am and show people what I can do."

Elsewhere in the clip, Cruz was seen cuddling up to his girlfriend Jackie Apostel, 30, who watched supportively from backstage

He also described calling his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, to explain how they could stream his festival appearance online from overseas. "It's going to be fun, but... I was on the phone to my mum and dad just now, and I was telling them how they can stream it and then I almost started crying over the comfort of being at home playing with the boys," he said.

The star beamed as he mingled with fans, signing autographs and taking selfies

During the concert, the frontman played guitar and sang his band's biggest tracks following a recent tour across the UK. He beamed as he met fans, signed autographs, and took selfies after the performance.

On Friday, Cruz released his new single Seeing Red from his upcoming debut EP Wear & Tear. The track includes lyrics such as: "Been seeing red for as long as I remember / Yeah, I said I'm already there / The moment I drop this s**t, the whole thing's over."

Although the song hints at family tension, Cruz stated that the lyrics are tongue-in-cheek. "Seeing red is a comedic take on a totally unserious moment of frustration, in this case in sports," he explained. "Everyone's competitive nature likes to take over now and then, but it's all fun and games. Seeing red is a nod to that exact turning point."

Family getaway in France

David and Victoria Beckham did not attend the Chicago concert because they were thousands of miles away holidaying in the South of France near their estranged son Brooklyn, 27.

On Monday, Victoria and David were spotted on their £16million yacht in St Tropez, located 75 miles from Brooklyn. The couple ate lunch at Cherry Restaurant, five minutes from the Barbarac ice-cream parlour where Brooklyn dined.

Instead of joining his family's annual trip on their yacht, aspiring chef Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz stayed with his godfather Elton John. The couple spent the weekend at Elton's £15million villa, Castel Mont-Alban, which overlooks Nice on the French Riviera and previously hosted Victoria and David.

Elton John spends summer months at the Riviera home with his husband David Furnish and their two sons Zachary, 15, and Elijah, 13. On Monday, Nicola posted garden selfies in a white minidress while Brooklyn larked on the grass in photos shared to Instagram minutes apart.
