Comedian Quequé joins La Séptima to host satire show

Comedian and television presenter Héctor de Miguel, known as Quequé, has joined upcoming Spanish digital channel La Séptima to host a new satirical program.

The new digital terrestrial television channel is scheduled to launch across Spain on November 5, with an official public presentation planned for the second week of September during the FesTVal 2026 festival.

According to a report by news outlet Confidencial Digital, which first broke news of the signing, network executives intend to place Quequé's show in the competitive prime-time slot. The decision relies on his extensive television experience, his sharp topical analysis, and his strong presence across social media platforms.

The upcoming satirical show is expected to follow a format similar to 'LocoMundo', the comedy series Quequé previously hosted on Movistar Plus. At La Séptima, he joins an executive team led by José Miguel Contreras in management and Javier Ruiz in channel direction.

Quequé becomes the latest high-profile hire for the network, following the earlier additions of presenters Rocío Delgado, Alba Carrillo, and Marta Márquez to the broadcaster's lineup.

Single studio hub in San Sebastián de los Reyes

In an exclusive report published by entertainment outlet YOTELE, all broadcasts for La Séptima will originate from a single centralized studio complex. The shared facility is located in San Sebastián de los Reyes, placing the new channel directly adjacent to major Spanish commercial broadcaster Atresmedia.

Architects designing the facility informed YOTELE that the new studio space will introduce innovative features in both visual aesthetics and narrative delivery. The layout will incorporate mobile and adaptable set elements designed to reconfigure for different program formats throughout the broadcast day.

Two decades of Spanish television satire

Héctor de Miguel, a native of Salamanca in northwestern Spain, began his broadcasting career on local television in his home city. He achieved his national breakthrough after winning the stand-up comedy contest on 'El club de la comedia', establishing himself as a regular presence on national television networks.

Known for a performance style grounded in political satire and biting humor, Quequé built his reputation through prominent roles on emblematic comedy shows including 'Noche Hache' and 'Estas no son las noticias'. In those programs, he specialized in segments dedicated to critical analysis of news media and current events.

Over a television career spanning more than 20 years, the comedian has appeared across all major Spanish free-to-air networks and subscription platforms. He was a recurring contributor to 'El club de la comedia' and played a prominent role during the comedy programming expansion at Movistar Plus, featuring on 'Late motiv', 'LocoMundo', and 'La resistencia'.

His hosting credits include his own Comedy Central series 'La lista tonta' and the inaugural 2020 Odeón Awards ceremony broadcast by public network RTVE. Alongside his ongoing radio work for Cadena Ser, he recently fronted the 11-episode culinary format 'Héctor de comer con Ququé' for digital platform RTVE Play, hosting guests such as comedian David Broncano, politician Irene Montero, and food journalist Mikel Iturriaga.
