Love Island USA contestant Clarke Carraway has explained her July breakup with Taylor Williams, stating she ended the relationship because she was uncomfortable with his friendliness toward other women.
The 25 year old behavioural specialist shared her reasons for the split on the September 20 episode of Kaylor Martin's podcast, Kaylor's Crash Outs.
"One of the things that I was asking him to fix: Taylor is super nice, super friendly," Carraway said. "In a relationship, I run a strict program. I don't play that."
Carraway said she initially ignored social media rumours and a direct message claiming Williams had been out with a female acquaintance. She said she confronted him and accepted his explanation, but changed her mind when a video surfaced showing the 26 year old rodeo star from Oklahoma City speaking closely with another woman.
"I ignored the DMs. I asked him about it. 'It's cool, whatever,'" she said. "But to see the video come out, I'm here seeing it for the first time with everyone else."
Williams told Carraway the woman in the video was a platonic mutual friend, but Carraway said his actions crossed her boundaries.
"Where he had an opportunity to move a little differently, he just stayed true to himself, right?" Carraway said. "All respect to you, but just the way that I move in a relationship, like I told you, 'You're the priority. I think about you in every second.'"
Carraway said she acts as though she is always on camera to avoid misunderstandings, and expected the same from him.
"If there's a group of men that are approaching me, I just pretend I'm being filmed at all times," she said. "And even if I wasn't, like, how would I want him to move?"
"If there's any questioning in any sort of relationship, whether that's platonic or romantic," she added. "I don't think that God would send someone my way, whether it's a friend or someone I'm talking to, that I would question."
Social media posts
Both television personalities addressed the cheating rumours online before confirming the breakup.
Carraway posted photographs of herself on Instagram with the caption, "Intuition is my fave accessory."
Williams responded to a fan on Snapchat, according to Cosmopolitan, writing that he had "responsibilities and a busy life I don't have time to just sit and talk bout people."
"I got better things to do with my time rather than respond to shi that ain't real," he wrote.
Love Island USA season seven
Carraway and Williams met in Fiji during the seventh season of the reality television dating show. Williams initially pursued Olandria Carthen but chose Carraway during a recoupling ceremony in the Casa Amor segment. Carthen eventually placed second with Nic Vansteenberghe.
Carraway and Williams finished the season as the fifth runners up. Amaya Espinal and Bryan Arenales won the season but later separated.
"Everything happens for a reason, so I can't be mad at it," Williams told TODAY.com at the time. "You know I could be upset, but it's like I can't be absolutely mad because this happened for a reason."
Love Island UK couples
Nathan Massey and Cara De La Hoyde won the second UK season in 2016. They briefly separated in May 2017 during her first pregnancy before reconciling. Their son Freddie was born in December 2017. Massey proposed in July 2018 at the show's villa, and they married in June 2019. Their daughter Delilah was born in July 2020.
Season two runners up Alex Bowen and Olivia Buckland got engaged in 2017. Buckland appeared on Say Yes to the Dress, and TLC broadcast their September 2018 wedding and early marriage in Olivia and Alex Said Yes and Olivia and Alex: Happily Ever After. Their son Abel was born in June 2022.
They announced their second pregnancy in February 2025, and their daughter Sienna was born in August.
Dominic Lever and Jess Rose continued dating after being voted off season three. They married in October 2018 and have two children.
Camilla Thurlow and Jamie Jewitt placed second in season three in 2017. They married in September 2021 and have three children: Nell, born in October 2020; Nora, born in May 2022; and Brodie, born in May 2024.
Season four contestants Ellie Brown and Charlie Brake broke up shortly after leaving the show in 2018. Brown announced her engagement to an unnamed partner in July 2025, a year after starting their relationship.
Season four winners Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham announced their breakup in December 2018.
"Jack and I have sadly decided to part ways," Dyer wrote on Instagram. "It's been an incredible six months, and we will always have a place in our hearts for each other, but we've sadly come to the realisation that it's not meant to be long term. We both plan to stay friends."
The couple reconciled but split again in early 2019. Fincham wrote on Instagram that "sometimes things aren't meant to be."
"We will always care a lot for each other and have love for each other," Fincham wrote in April 2019. He added that they "really did try to make it work but it unfortunately didn't and that is life."
In February 2025, Fincham told The Sun that addiction contributed to the breakup. "I have blown more than a million pounds thanks to drugs, booze and gambling," he said. "Drugs helped my relationship with Dani fail. I was absent, my priorities were wrong, I wasn't a great boyfriend. I am determined to change my future."
Dyer married footballer Jarrod Bowen in May 2025. They have twin daughters, Summer and Star, born in May 2023. Dyer also has a son, Santi, born in January 2021 to her former partner Sammy Kimmence.
Season five and six updates
Season five's Lucie Donlan and Joe Garratt separated in December 2019. Donlan is engaged to season six contestant Luke Mabbott. Garratt appeared on the spin off series Love Island: All Stars in 2024.
Season five winners Amber Gill and Greg O'Shea ended their relationship weeks after the finale. O'Shea, an Irish rugby player, broke up with Gill by text message. Gill told Loose Women that careers and distance were factors. "It was always something that we knew about, so I don't know what changed. I kind of wanted to make it work, but it is what it is, really," she said.
O'Shea defended himself on RTE's The Late Late Show. "She lives in the UK, every brand wants to work with her, every event wants her there, of course, she deserves all of it and I decided to come back to Ireland and do my thing here," he said. O'Shea proposed to Jeanni Mulder in early 2025.
Anton Danyluk and Belle Hassan ended their season five romance shortly after leaving the show. Danyluk told Mail Online they were strictly friends. "No, definitely not, it's just not that type of relationship," he said. "We're so friendly now, it would be like dating your sister, effectively. It's not that kind of relationship anymore." Danyluk placed fifth on Love Island: All Stars in 2024 with Georgia Harrison before splitting up.
Season five runners up Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury got engaged in July 2024, six months after their daughter Bambi was born. Hague announced their separation in August 2024 on Instagram.
"I'm extremely upset to announce that mine and Tommy's relationship has come to an end," she wrote. "I will forever be grateful for the most important thing to me, now and always, my beautiful daughter. Without us, there would be no her. She will always be my priority."
The couple reconciled, as revealed on the Amazon Prime series Molly-Mae: Behind It All in May 2025. They announced their second pregnancy in February 2026 and their second child was born in June 2026.
Curtis Pritchard and Maura Higgins placed fourth in season five and separated in March 2020. Higgins told This Morning their relationship required trust. "I think trust one another, don't believe everything you read in the press and one main thing: Don't let fame get to your head," she said. "You just need to stay grounded."
Announcing the breakup on Instagram, Higgins wrote: "Curtis and I have made the decision to separate. We enjoyed a great experience from our time in the villa and want to thank everyone for supporting our relationship."
Pritchard appeared on Love Island: Games in 2023 and placed third on Love Island: All Stars in 2025 with Ekin-Su Culculoglu. They broke up months later.
"I wanted to share that Curtis and I have decided to go our separate ways," Culculoglu wrote on Instagram in May 2025, according to People. "It's been a really tough decision, but one made with a lot of love and respect for one another. He's an incredible person and I'll always cherish the memories we made both in and out of the villa."
Ovie Soko and India Reynolds placed third in season five but separated in 2019. Reynolds told MailOnline the breakup was hard.
"Obviously it's difficult, but any break up is difficult," she said. "It's even more difficult when it's in front of the rest of the world, but I'll be fine. I'm lucky I've got a really close group of girlfriends, they've been really looking after me." Reynolds appeared on Love Island: All Stars in 2025.
Finley Tapp and Paige Turley won the first winter season of the UK series, moving in together in February 2020. They separated in 2023. Turley appeared on Love Island: After Sun in June 2023, saying, "We're still really good friends. I think we drifted apart." Tapp is dating Jess Hale, as confirmed by The Sun in June 2025. Their son Austin was born in January 2026.
Winter season six third place couple Luke Mabbott and Demi Jones separated months after the show. Jones told MailOnline in June 2020: "We've completely called it off now. I think it was brought about more from his behalf than mine, but we're mutual and friendly. With lockdown, it drove us apart and we live so far away from each other. I feel like there wasn't a lot of effort made with communication, so we drifted as a result." Jones met Luis Morrison on Love Island: All Stars in 2024, but they separated the same year.
Ched Uzor and Jess Gale placed fourth in season six and broke up in June 2020. "To confirm, myself and Ched have split, we are still good friends and I wish him all the best x," Gale wrote on Instagram. "Thanks for all the support you have given us since the villa."
Nas Majeed and Eva Zapico began their relationship on season six after Majeed broke up with Demi Jones. They made the relationship official in July 2020. Following engagement rumours in August 2023 when Zapico was seen wearing a ring, Majeed announced their separation on Instagram in March 2024.
"Unfortunately, Eva and I have decided to end our relationship," Majeed wrote. "There is no bad blood or wrong doing, it was a mutual and completely amicable decision. We tried to work things out over the past couple of months but decided this was for the best, and are both at peace with the situation." Majeed appeared on Love Island: All Stars in 2025.
Callum Jones ended his relationship with Shaughna Phillips to date Molly Smith during season six. Jones and Smith dated for three years before separating in 2023. Both appeared on Love Island: All Stars in 2024. Smith won the season with Tom Clare, and the couple remain together. Jones placed second with Jess Gale, but they separated later in 2024. Jones is now dating Yasmin Deplidge.
Luke Trotman and Siannise Fudge placed second on the 2020 winter season and separated in November 2021. Trotman got engaged to Chelsea Menna in 2022.
Later UK seasons
Millie Court and Liam Reardon won season seven and separated in July 2022. They reconciled in 2023, documenting their relationship on social media and a podcast, but separated again in the autumn of 2025.
Ekin-Su Culculoglu and Davide Sanclimenti won season eight in 2022 and separated in June 2023. Sanclimenti announced the split on Instagram: "@ekinsuofficial & I are no longer together. I am grateful for the memories and opportunities we shared together and I wish her nothing but the best. I would like for everybody to respect this decision during this difficult time. I will continue to support Ekin in anyway possible."
They reconciled but broke up again in January 2024. Culculoglu wrote on Instagram, according to Cosmopolitan UK: "The last 18 months have been a rollercoaster of ups and downs, just like every relationship. Davide and I both wanted to make this work as we cared deeply for each other. Unfortunately I have recently made the decision to end our relationship and to go our separate ways. Breakups are never easy. For any couple. And we hope that our privacy will be respected. I enjoyed our time together and the memories we made." Sanclimenti began dating Iris Au in the summer of 2024.
Jess Harding and Sammy Root won season ten and broke up two months later in October 2023. Root wrote on Instagram that the split was a "total shock."
"We had a private conversation but this was left up in the air as Jess is still away and we haven't had a chance to speak in person," Root wrote. "To be totally clear, I at least wanted to see if our relationship could be saved and felt this would be the respectful way forward."
"Despite how all this has played out today, I think Jess is an amazing woman and genuinely wish her the best," he added. Root appeared on Love Island: All Stars in 2025 with Elma Pazar, sparking breakup rumours in June 2025.
Uma Jammeh and Wil Anderson left season 11 together on day 37 after Jammeh was chosen by Reuben Collins. They announced their engagement in July 2025. "We've been sitting on a bad boy piece of information," Jammeh wrote on Instagram.
Jammeh discussed her decision to leave the show on the Not My Bagg podcast with Lisa Baggs and Joe Baggs. "There was no question. I didn't have to think about it at all," she said. "I want to be with Wil. I've met someone. It takes me so long to get to the position I was with Wil, to be so comfortable with someone. There were two weeks left. What was I gonna do? Just sit there and fake a new connection? I'd rather just be honest."
Josh Ritchie, who placed third in 2015 with Lauren Richardson, and Sophie Piper placed third on Love Island: All Stars in 2024. Piper wrote on Instagram in February 2024: "Just the beginning. Thank you so much to everyone that has supported us throughout our journey honestly means the world."
Ritchie posted for their anniversary in March 2025: "Our first year anniversary. I don't know how you have put up with me for this long. You have a life time of this so I hope you no what you have a signed up for. Love you always."
Love Island USA couples
Zac Mirabelli and Elizabeth Weber won the first season of Love Island USA and broke up at the end of 2019. "The breakup was mutual and we have left on amicable terms," Mirabelli wrote on Instagram. "We simply wanted different things."
Weber wrote, "Although I had wished things could've turned out differently life doesn't always work out the way we could've hoped sometimes." She got engaged to Gianni Settino in December 2024. In July 2024, she posted on Instagram: "For everyone watching Love Island USA right now, yes I have recoupled 5 years later."
Season one runners up Dylan Curry and Alex Stewart broke up in November 2019. "Alex and I are no longer together," Curry wrote on Instagram. "Sometimes it just doesn't work out." Stewart wrote: "heartbreak is hard. Our story was a Fairytale romance for me, but sometimes things just don't work out."
Caro Viehweg and Ray Gantt from season one separated in July 2020. Viehweg announced the breakup on YouTube, saying: "I just don't feel like he was committed to the relationship like I was. So that's why I decided to break up with him." Viehweg married Rene Lacad in September 2023. Their daughter Amina was born in April 2024. Viehweg posted on Instagram for Mother's Day in 2025: "Note to Amina: Thank you for making me your mama. Nothing in this life tops that."
Weston Richey and Emily Salch from season one broke up, which Salch confirmed on YouTube in May 2020. "Weston and I are no longer together," she said. "I am single. Basically we kind of went through a roller coaster of a journey together. It was really hard with distance especially because I was in college."
Kyra Green and Cashel Barnett separated in October 2019, reconciled in November, and ended their relationship in February 2020. Barnett said on the #NoFilter podcast: "We had a good go. I think we're just in different places in our lives. I think she blocked my number, to be honest."
Green appeared on Match Me If You Can in 2021, The Challenge: USA in 2022 alongside Barnett, and Love Island Games in 2023. She entered a relationship with former basketball player and dental student Tal Sahar in 2024.
Barnett was jailed in Utah in May 2025 on domestic violence and assault charges, with further charges filed in June. Barnett denied the allegations.
His lawyer, Andrew K. Deesing, told NBC News: "My client and his family are enduring an incredibly difficult time, and we hope that his privacy will be respected as we work diligently to defend his name and reputation. Obviously, we're in the very early stages of this and don't have any further comment at this time."
Season two couple Cely Vazquez and Johnny Middlebrooks broke up in January 2021.
Season six winners Kordell Beckham and Serena Page remain together. For Beckham's birthday in May 2025, Page posted on Instagram: "Happiest of birthdays to the literal man of my dreams, almost 1 year later and I cannot believe how obsessed I still am with you. Its so amazing to watch you grow and your dreams come true in real time, I am so so proud of the man you are growing into more and more everyday and cannot wait to spend more birthdays with you!! Thank you for being the best boyfriend, partner, friend, and making me the happiest girl ever."
