Pip Edwards’ high status in the Australian fashion industry didn’t stop her from slipping out at a Vogue event on Tuesday.
The 42-year-old designer appeared to have missed the style meme as she arrived at a chic party at Bondi Icebergs in colorful attire – while the rest of the A-list guests were dressed in black.
Her blunders meant the PE Nation founder gave the thumbs up at the elite gathering celebrating Christine Centenera’s appointment as Vogue Australia’s new editor-in-chief.

The businesswoman arrived carefree at the venue, donning a colorful $660 Acne Studio shirt, with sleeves rolled up and buttons unbuttoned to reveal her black bra.
To take it a step further, she donned a pair of $500 Jean Paul Gaultier pants from the fierce Cyber collection.
To complete her striking performance, Edwards opted for several pieces of chunky gold jewelery before slipping into a pair of sheer heels and hiding her eyes behind dark sunglasses.

Other guests, including Nicole Kidman and her husband Keith Urban, followed the unspoken rule by wearing all black.
However, Edwards remained unimpressed and was spotted taking photos with the other high-profile contestants.

Ms Centenera, who was previously the magazine’s fashion director, was officially promoted to the top position this week, replacing Edwina McCann.
Edwards shared a gallery of photos from the party on Instagram, along with a moving tribute to her longtime friend, which read: “Congratulations to one of the most talented, passionate and hardworking friends I know, Christine Centenera, on your extraordinary appointment as editor-in-chief of Vogue Australia.
“We have watched you in awe for over 20 years and love to see you grow. You have earned this position tenfold. Nothing but love.’
