The former One Direction star, 29, took to Instagram last week to share a photo of his unfinished work, which took 50 hours to paint when the photo was taken.
Singer Liam wrote his post: “Unfinished oil canvas I painted of the Queen. It’s 4ft long and took about 50 hours… RIP HRH.’
In memory: Liam Payne, 29, paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth II by creating an oil painting of the late monarch after her death in September
The painting shows Queen Elizabeth wearing the State Tiara, a diamond crown made in 1820 for King George IV, Queen Victoria’s uncle.
The state tiara is usually worn by queens and queen consorts at the state openings of parliament.
She is seen in a green dress with a white sash in front, a dainty brooch and a statement necklace.

The Queen died on September 8 this year in Balmoral Castle in Scotland, aged 96.
A state funeral was held at Westminster Abbey in London on September 19, followed by a funeral service at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.
Liam showed off his watercolor portrait of the Queen’s husband, the late Prince Philip, in early April last year.

He paid tribute to the late Duke of Edinburgh with a drawing of Prince Philip in his early days in his navy uniform ahead of his funeral the same month.
In a clip shared on Instagram, Liam held the 1950s photo he used as inspiration next to his painting of the Duke as he thanked him for his years of service.
Comic That Down hitmaker Liam captioned the video: “Rest in peace HRH Prince Philip. Small tribute to you, thank you for your service.’

Work in progress: The “Strip That Down” hitmaker detailed the portrait’s progress as it took shape over the course of several hours
Liam, who made his red carpet debut with girlfriend Kate Cassidy at the British Fashion Awards last week, previously took to Instagram to describe the portrait’s progress as it took shape over a few hours.
He first drew a sketch of Prince Philip’s head, writing: “I hope I’m starting something very special.”
In the next shot, the former boy band member drew the full outline of the Duke, then recognizable as the monarch’s husband, and wrote: “Ready for watercolor hours later.”
Prince Philip died on April 9 at the age of 99 and his ceremonial funeral was held at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle last April.
The Queen was buried with her husband Philip in the King George VI Memorial Chapel on the night of her funeral in September.
