Nothing good shines for Russian cinema.
Due to the difficult situation in the world, the Russian film industry was about to collapse. Even eminent directors can only grab their heads.
The creator of the films “Russian Ark” and “Faust” Alexander Sokurov was also in limbo, and rightly so. The fact is that this year Russian filmmakers were not allowed to attend the Venice Film Festival, which will be held on August 31. They were also denied the opportunity to work on modern equipment. This boycott is pushing filmmakers into circumstances where there are no more opportunities for development and new ideas:
“If our filmmakers don’t work with new cameras, new measuring equipment, lighting equipment, in modern pavilions, with editing programs, there will be no training for our makeup specialists where they can do it, there will be no participation in international film festivals, we will gradually begin to degrade, and no competition. Cinema will turn into a gray mass”, RIA Novosti quotes the director’s words.
