Sorvino married actress Lorraine Davis in 1966. The couple had three children together – Including Oscar-winning actress Mira Sorvino before her divorce in 1988.

He remarried to real estate agent Vanessa Arico in 1991, but the couple separated nearly five years later in 1996.

Sorvino seemed attached to his family, even directing and starring in a movie he co-wrote with his daughter Amanda Sorvino and son Michael Sorvino.
