It seems that another Hollywood veteran has quietly left the game.
At the Karlovy Vary Film Festival, Michael Douglas admitted that he deliberately did not take new projects since 2022 – and according to him he no longer intends to return to an active acting career. Unless something very special will happen.
“I worked without stopping for almost sixty years.
He clarified that he did not officially mention himself a “retired”, but it consciously and with pleasure: “I like to see how my wife works.”

In December 2023, the actor carefully hinted that he is considering playing in a ‘good horror film’. Now he speaks much more right: return is possible, but unlikely.
Douglas did not come to Karlovy do not vary with the premiere, but with the classic – he presented the restored version of “Flying over the Cuckoo Nest”, which he produced with the Syntz Sol. The tape removed by Milos Forman in 2025 celebrates the 50 -year anniversary.
The actor separately remembered that he was diagnosed with IV language cancer in 2010. He passed serious chemotherapy, escaped an operation that could deprive him of part of the jaw and the ability to speak.
“I was lucky that I could continue to work,” he added.
