Queen Letizia packs her bags again and leaves King Felipe

Don Felipe and Doña Letizia start this Monday a week full of official obligations for both. Contrary to what has happened in other cases, the Kings will be present separately the vast majority of the official acts scheduled for next Friday; and they will only coincide in one act that will take place on Thursday morning at the Palacio de la Zarzuela.

It is therefore a calendar full of events in which the individual commitments of both the King and Queen will play the leading role. While Doña Letizia will travel to Murcia to lead the delivery of the National Flag to the Special Naval Warfare Force; King Felipe has to travel to Zaragoza to attend the act of commemoration on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Aragon. Of numerous outings and receptions in the PalaceDon Felipe and Doña Letizia will only face one of the events that are about to end the week together, namely on Thursday, in an act that will take place in Madrid, specifically in their place of residence .

This forced separation takes place at a very prominent moment after the emotions experienced by Don Felipe during his visit to the center court at Roland Garros enjoy the men’s tennis final between the Norwegian Casper Ruud and Rafa Nadal. A very commented help by the pleasant company of his friend Prince Hakoon of Norway and his wife Mette Marit and also because of the conspicuous absence of Doña Letizia. After overcoming an exciting day, King Felipe VI has returned to official routine and this Monday inaugurated his specific agenda for the week. Don Felipe went to the Royal Palace of Madrid early in the morning to chair the ceremony of credentials, which started at 10:30 am. An act known to be one of the most solemn ceremonies in a country’s diplomatic life† In the case of Spain, this protocol has been celebrated since the mid-16th century, when Felipe II ordered the creation of what was then known as Palacio Labels; although it has no particular periodic frequency. It is an act in which foreign ambassadors present their credentials through letters to be submitted to the Spanish head of state. On this occasion, King Felipe VI received the credentials of the new ambassadors from Brazil, Mexico, Yemen, Chile, the Maldives and Iceland.

Continuing his busy official schedule for the week, King Felipe will travel to Zaragoza this Tuesday, where the act of commemoration will begin at 11:30 a.m. to mark the 40th anniversary of the Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Aragon. An act celebrated with the objective of recognizing and making visible the contribution of companies to the socio-economic development of Aragon, and in which Don Felipe, in addition to presiding over the session, will personally hand over the prizes to the various companies awarded in this edition. All this on a morning when Doña Letizia will be hundreds of kilometers from her husband, on the occasion of the celebration of another official act overlapping with the latter, in which the Queen will be present as the highest representative of the Royal House.

Queen Letizia is expected to make her appearance at the Juan Sebastián Elcano Pier in the Port of Cartagena next Tuesday, June 7 at noon; Where will be in charge of the delivery of the national flag to the Special Naval Warfare Force† Queen Letizia will be responsible for sponsoring and chairing the act whereby the National Flag will be delivered to the Marine Infantry Special Naval Warfare Force in La Algameca. It is a very special act as this special forces force currently does not have a battle flag as it is a relatively new unit, although it was established in 2009. While Letizia will no longer deal with Tuesday’s obligations during the day, Felipe VI will soon leave Zaragoza to travel back to Madridwhere in the late afternoon he Callao Cinemas to attend the series premiere Unlimited, who happens to recount the first circumnavigation of the world by Elcano and Magellan. Queen Letizia, for her part, will soon return to Madrid, where she will meet her husband next Thursday in a new official act.
