TV presenter Jeremy Vine defended Our Yorkshire Farm’s Amanda Owen on Monday after she revealed she received a warning from social services about her parenting style.
Broadcaster Jeremy Vine showed his support for Our Yorkshire Farm star Amanda Owen after it was revealed that the mother of nine had received a stern warning from social services.
The success of Channel 5 Our Yorkshire Farm follows Amanda and her family in their daily lives at Ravenseat Farm.
The 47-year-old recently received a yellow flag from social services due to concerns about her education.
Speaking on his Channel 5 show, Jeremy, 57, responded to Amanda’s criticism, saying there was nothing dangerous about her parenting style.
He said, “Everyone drives tractors and things like that and I guarantee you someone, somewhere made an exception.”

Psychotherapist Lucy Beresford then said: “So you say your upbringing is unconventional, you have many children.”
“But she is also the kind of mother who wants her children to make mistakes, fall, show resilience and develop strong temperaments.
“But it turns out that for some unknown reason, social services have been reported.”
Jeremy said, “Well, I think they’ve probably seen kids playing on a cliff or something.

“If you’re not the right kind of person to watch this show and see a seven-year-old sheep helping to give birth to a lamb, you might think this shouldn’t be happening and call social services.
“I don’t know what the flag means, maybe they just saw the show. But there is nothing dangerous here. “
Amanda told the Hay Festival of Literature & Arts: “I don’t see myself as a perfect mother.
“I got a yellow flag from social services … I think there is a middle ground where you allow children to climb trees.”
He added: “Yes, they don’t have a harness or helmet.
“But I think there are lessons to be learned that don’t necessarily lead to instant death, but actually learn their own parameters.”

Amanda and husband Clive Owen share Raven, 21, Reuben, 18, Miles, 15, Edith, 13, Violet, 11, Sidney, 10, Annas, eight, Clemmie, six, and Nancy, five.
Amanda didn’t say when she was contacted by social services, but her popular TV show was targeted four years ago for health and safety concerns.
The Unite union criticized an incident in which children rode quaddies without helmets and climbed over hay bales.
