Nicole Kidman stars again in a detective drama that has divided critics and viewers.
September proved rich in Netflix releases – but even with the variety of highly anticipated premieres, viewers can’t tear themselves away from the detective miniseries, which is already being called a “dirty” but exciting show. In addition to the already beloved “Emily in Paris” and “White Lotus”, the streaming service has released “The Perfect Match”, another “light” series for evening viewing with an impressive cast – and on this topic, Netflix users have a very different point of view than critics.
“The Perfect Couple,” starring Nicole Kidman, Liev Schreiber and Dakota Fanning, officially released on streaming on September 5 and was not well-liked by professionals – the latter only rated the series 64% on Rotten Tomatoes.

And while the viewing figures on the same aggregator aren’t much higher – 67%– the audience warmly accepted the new product, and many praised the series on the Internet, admitting that they had watched the first (and only) season in one evening. Others said that they had read the book before the show came out and were looking forward to the series, which in the end was not a disappointment.
The action of “The Perfect Couple” takes place on the island of Nantucket in Massachusetts – there Amelia is to marry a seemingly ideal chosen one from the wealthiest family in the area. The joyful anticipation of a great event turns into tragedy when on the wedding day Amelia’s body is found in the waters of the harbor and all the assembled guests are now under suspicion.
