Burton managed to convince the producers.

36 years after the release of the original Beetlejuice, Tim Burton finally gave fans a sequel to his mystery comedy, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.

The second installment in the story of Lydia Deetz and the pesky ghost of Beetlejuice was released just two weeks ago, and critics and audiences alike are already calling Burton’s new film one of the best of 2024.

The $100 million sequel has already dominated the global box office 264 million – analysts are confident that the new product can be easily assembled 500 million in the coming weeks.

But all of these successes might not have happened. According to insider information, Warner Bros. wanted to release Beetlejuice Beetlejuice directly to the Max streaming service – all because of the film’s big budget.

The producers offered Burton $147 million to produce a sequel, but the director decided to refuse – he wanted to release the film in theaters.

Fortunately for the fans, Warner Bros. made concessions – the director was forced to cut the budget 100 million but they promised to release the film in theaters.

Burton was supported by his actors. Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, Catherine O’Hara and Jenna Ortega agreed to reduce fees to release the film theatrically – in return, the performers received a percentage of the proceeds.

Considering how much money “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” has already collected at the box office, the artists’ decision turned out to be very successful.
