So bad it’s good.
Just as the Alien franchise was getting its second wind, somewhere on the fringes of cinema, another alien parasite was trying to terrify audiences.
But rather amused.
We are talking about the horror film “Hellhole”, which made a mixed impression on critics.
This is a passable B-movie with good computer graphics and ridiculous acting, but not without creativity, dramatic tension, and a few undeniable merits.
The plot takes the viewer to a remote Serbian town, where American workers extracting oil find the body of a French soldier, who suddenly comes to life.

When an ancient body is discovered to be controlled by an alien organism, the alien begins its hunt, jumping from one host to another. And the way it moves strikes fear into humans.
This film is a real grindhouse with familiar scripting techniques (a scientist trying to study a monster), jump scares and a bloody mess.
Interestingly, the horror film has a rating of 85% on Rotten Tomatoes, although the big-budget Romulus failed to break the 80% barrier.
The picture, as critics explained, is endowed with that rare charm when it is clear from the first minutes that everything is bad, but the unintentional comedy, the mixing of elements and the obvious efforts of the makers outweigh the shortcomings.
“The story is of course typical, but there are some unexpected twists that add a special charm and relevance,” noted one reviewer.
The digital release took place on August 23, so the film is already available to watch online.
