Demi Moore was almost kicked out of Hollywood over a scene in Charlie’s Angels

Although Demi Moore had a successful career and major hits under her belt by 2003, she was not immune to the cruelty of the entertainment industry.

At one point, the star even felt like she no longer had a place in the movies, all because of one scene.

We’re talking about a little episode in the movie “Charlie’s Angels 2: Full Throttle,” in which her villain confronts Cameron Diaz’s heroine on the beach, in a skimpy bikini.

Does it seem like someone in a comedy action film about beautiful cops would be furious? The answer is striking: Moore’s age.

At the time of filming, the actress was over 40 years old and was subjected to a lot of venomous criticism for the “quality” of her body. It is unlikely that anyone looking at this figure could grimace in disgust, but Hollywood bosses had a different opinion.

According to Demi, the zero roles were still assigned based on age: young girls played lovers, middle-aged women played wives and mothers, and older women played grandmothers or witches.

“The interesting thing is that I felt more pressure when I turned 40. There was a lot of talk around this piece about how I looked. I have to admit there was a point where I wondered if this was really what I should be doing,” she told Michelle Yeoh.

The actress did not know, because she did not fit into any of the categories – no longer a girl, but not yet an old woman.

Yeo agreed, noting that show business is hard for women at an age where they can no longer find scripts and characters that resonate with them:

“Why can’t you be sexy at 45 or 60? This perception is undergoing a major change because people like you and me don’t want to sit back and watch everything happen.”
