Good news for fans.
If viewers were hoping to see Channing Tatum perform in Gambit again, they have every chance.
Ryan Reynolds recently shared with the public a deleted scene from Deadpool and Wolverine, revealing the hero’s fate in more detail.
In the 30-second clip, he walks past Cassandra Nova’s defeated henchmen and turns around, noticing a glow behind him. It reflects in his eyes, and a satisfied grin spreads across his face.
“*whispers* that Marvel sparkling circle,” Reynolds captioned the post, referring to the interdimensional portal through which Gambit escaped the Void.
The actor also added that a version of this episode appears in the film, on one of the small screens in Temporal Change Management. So technically it’s not a cutscene, because it was kept in the final cut.
While this fan-pleasing detail by no means guarantees Tatum’s return to the cinematic universe, the efforts of the film crew left the door open for him.
“I thought I lost Gambit, but Ryan fought for us. I’ll probably always be in his debt because I can’t even imagine what the equivalent of paying him back would be,” Channing admitted on social media.
Even if one of the X-Men never gets his own solo album, that doesn’t mean he has to say goodbye.
In the future, the audience can expect two major projects – “Avengers: Judgment Day” and “Avengers: Secret Wars” – in the framework of which a new legendary crossover could take place with the participation of many favorite characters.
