Dua Lipa has revealed her upcoming “personal” album is about dating and finding out if a lover is “real” or not.

The 28-year-old singer has been dating her current boyfriend Romain Gavras (42) since the beginning of this year and was previously in a relationship with Anwar Hadid.

She explained on US radio: “It’s more the different feelings and emotions you have when you’re single.”

“It’s also understanding.” You understand what you want and what you need and what you deserve.

“It goes from the phase of struggling with singleness to a possible new relationship.”

“Then it’s the beginning and finding out the truth behind someone – whether they’re real or not. Or who they are.”

Dua rose to fame with her debut album Dua Lipa and her latest album Future Nostalgia, which has surpassed nearly 10 billion streams.

She is reportedly putting the finishing touches on her “truly personal third album.”

The pop star spent hundreds of hours in the recording studio between parts of her world tour.

Dua is hoping to release new music before the end of 2023 and her record company bosses are desperately trying to ensure recording for the long-awaited LP is safe after a song she previously worked on with Pharrell Williams was leaked.

A music insider told The Sun: “Dua’s third album is very personal to her and she was involved in everything.”

“She spent hundreds of hours in the studio writing each song, which is very important to her.”

“Dua has made it very clear that she wants to keep it lighthearted and fun, but she will be much more revealing in her lyrics.

The source also hinted at collaborations on the album, as “talented artists” have requested to work with her.

The source said: “She spent hundreds of hours in the studio writing every song – it’s very important to her.”

Last month, Dua said of the release: “It has more of a lyrical theme than a sonic one.

“There’s still a sonic element, it’s still pop.” I still want to dance and do another crazy tour.

“It’s a little more mature.” [than Future Nostalgia] I think in terms of experiences.’

Dua’s second album was released in March 2020 after being pushed forward a week after online leaks.

The album consists of 13 songs, including the popular hits “Don’t Start Now” and “Levitating,” for which Dua is currently on trial.

She had huge success with her 2020 hit, but a group called Artikal Sound System is trying to profit from the song because they believe she stole her 2017 reggae single “Live Your Life.”

According to TMZ documents, the group believes Dua and her team heard their song and made a copy in “Levitating.”

Although they did not explain in the lawsuit why they believe this to be the case, there are similarities in the sound of the two songs, especially in the choruses.

Artikal Sound System has also named Dua’s label Warner Records and others as defendants and is seeking all profits from the song as well as damages.

Future Nostalgia won the Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album in March 2021 and its lead single “Don’t Start Now” achieved critical success, including Grammy nominations for Record of the Year, Song of the Year and “Best Pop Solo- execution”.

The highly anticipated Future Nostalgia Tour was postponed several times due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but finally kicked off in Florida last month.

The tour ends in Perth, Australia in November and is produced by Ceremony London, promoted by Live Nation and sponsored by Truly Hard Seltzer.

Megan Thee Stallion, Griff, Tove Lo and Angèle will also appear as supporting acts during the tour.
