Hugh Sheridan is back to spread some Christmas magic with his new film Holiday Twist, a wonderful addition to this year’s Christmas film lineup.
The 38-year-old Australian actor spoke to Daily Mail Australia this week and discussed his recovery break, his holiday favorites and the joy of the holidays.
After a challenging period following his father’s death, Hugh took a well-deserved break to Tel Aviv, but his trip was cut short when Hamas attacked Israel.
The trip was not only about relaxation, but also about reassessment, something he hadn’t had the chance to do since starting work straight out of college.
“I never took a gap year or anything. “I’m always working,” Hugh explained.

“I just wanted to have some time to just not know where I was going and have some fun … It was great. “It was really interesting,” he said.
“It was hard and I’m glad I did it. But at the same time I probably should have just done it when I was 18,” he laughed, adding that he has no regrets.
A fan of festive films himself, the Packed to the Rafters star named Home Alone and The Grinch as two of his favourites, highlighting their timeless humour.

“I still love Love Indeed, but it’s a bit dated.” “I noticed it when I saw it last year,” he said.
Sheridan admitted that he does everything he can to preserve the myth of Santa Claus for his nieces and nephews.
“For as long as I could, I tried to convince my nieces and nephews that he was definitely real and everyone was lying,” he laughs.

During the chat, the actor humorously recounted the “horrific” moment when he received a re-gifted item that he had originally given.
“I know someone accidentally gave me something I gave them before, that’s the worst,” he explained.
“They actually gave it back to the person who gave it to them, but without them knowing it. Oh, it’s definitely scary. I won’t say who or what it was. You will know.’

The actor was excited to work with Kelly Stables. (The couple are pictured at the film’s Hollywood premiere in Los Angeles)
Elsewhere, Sheridan praises working with actress Kelly Stables.
“Kelly was brilliant. She was just amazing,” he recalls. “You know, a really funny actress and just a solid person.”
“When it comes to working with leading actresses, sometimes they’re challenging, but sometimes they’re really good.”
Holiday Twist is scheduled to be released in the US on December 1st. An Australian date has not yet been announced.
