Teri Copley denies cheating on John Stamos with Tony Danza: ‘What do you care?’

“He certainly didn’t come into my house and find me naked in bed with a sheet over me… I mean, none of that happened,” Copley said in a 19-minute YouTube video posted on Saturday, Nov. 4.

That said, she acknowledged that Stamos, 60, arrived at her home while Danza was there, but she answered the door “fully dressed” and they were already separated when the incident occurred.

“[He] he just shook his head and looked at me like, ‘How could you?’” Copley recalled Stamos. “Well, I looked at him and didn’t say anything either. I just looked at him and said, ‘What do you care?’”

Stamos recalled the painful interaction in his book, writing for People, “I can’t explain it, but I’d rather they punch me in the nose or something again because the pain is so intense. Looking back, it’s like she wasn’t the right girl for me. So seeing him, realizing it was him and stuff like that, was hard. I mean, it was horrible.

Copley and Stamos dated after the model’s year-and-a-half relationship with Danza ended. They quickly became close, and after eight months together, she claimed that Stamos told her he loved her. While things were going well between them, a phone call from Stamos’ mother, Loretta Phillips, rocked the relationship.

“He called and said, ‘Teri, I know you love John, but you’re not going to marry him because he’s not going to marry you,’” Copley said. “I remember it like it was yesterday.”

“It was my fault. I was young. “I didn’t know how to contact him to tell him, you know, your mother told me you never wanted to marry me,” Copley said. “We never talked about marriage and I was sure, you know, it’s pretty safe. [or] Strong enough to tell him. So I left it like that. I left it like that.

Days after their split, Copley contacted Danza after reading a magazine interview in which he said he “loved her.” Stamos confronted her after she and Danza got back together, solidifying their split.

HollywoodLife reached out to Stamos and Copley but did not receive a response as of press time.

However, Copley said he told Stamos about his mother’s call years later, following their divorce in 2005. Rebecca Romijn.

“I wanted to do it because I had grown up a little and I wanted to tell him what happened,” he said. “And he looked at me and said, ‘I didn’t know, Teri.’ He said, ‘I would have married you.’ I was madly in love with you.”

The exes managed to become friends after this interaction and Stamos married his wife. Caitlin McHugh, in 2018. Copley now lives his life away from the spotlight. She married Carlos Wahlheimbut it is not clear when they separated.
