Jesy Nelson has found great success in her solo career, as it seems her new single Bad Thing failed to do so at all.
The former Little Mix singer, 31, released her second song on Friday, April 14, more than a week ago, as a follow-up to her October 2021 debut single Boyz.
But despite a lot of publicity on her social media, her second attempt to crack the music industry herself had a major setback.
It was revealed on Sunday night that Bad Thing did not make the Official Singles Chart Top 100 or any other entry by the Official Charts Company.
And while Boyz has a whopping 25 million views on YouTube, Jesy’s latest music video only had 417,000 views and 400,000 streams on Spotify at the time of publication.

Meanwhile, Lewis Capaldi’s Wish You The Best – released on the same day – attracted 2.8 million viewers on the video-sharing platform and shot straight to number one in the top 40.
Her new song couldn’t be further from her controversial debut solo R&B single Boyz, which also features Nicki Minaj and was released by Polydor.
Jesy went in a completely different direction for her second single, showing off her vocal range as she sang about a toxic ex-boyfriend in the powerful track, accompanied by a 1970s-inspired video.
She is now set to release her third solo single, Cried Out, after parting ways with Polydor last July over “creative differences”.
MailOnline has contacted representatives of Jesy and the Official Charts Company.
It follows that Jesy is about to sign a major new deal with Warner Records.
She is reportedly in advanced talks with the label and they will be closely monitoring her and fans’ reactions to the song before offering a deal.
Jesy rose to fame as part of the X Factor-winning girl group Little Mix in 2011 alongside Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards and Jade Thirlwall, but left the group in 2020.

Little Mix then continued as a trio and released the hit album Confetti together before going on hiatus in 2022.
Jesy was the first to make the move to solo music with Boyz before Leigh-Anne, 31, signed a solo deal with Warner Records in March 2022.
Jade, 30, was also in the studio working on her album with the help of her Rizzle Kicks co-star Jordan Stephens.
Perrie, 29, is now also working on solo music, but said she doesn’t have a “fixed timeline” and enjoys exploring her own sound.
Jesy has been teasing her upcoming album for weeks, but the release date has yet to be announced.
