Podcaster and former Bachelor star Brittany Hockley is expecting her first child with her husband of one year, Swiss footballer Benjamin Siegrist.
The couple announced the news in a joint Instagram post on Tuesday, sharing a clip of 34-year-old Siegrist cradling 39-year-old Hockley's growing baby bump.

In the video, the couple cuddled up together while confirming the pregnancy to their social media followers. The caption alongside the clip read: "Can't believe we are saying this, but it's time for the next chapter… Baby squid is on its way!"

Friends, fellow reality television personalities, and fans quickly filled the comments section of the post with congratulations. Paralympian Ellie Cole shared her emotional reaction, writing: "I am crying, and not just saying I'm crying, THIS ACTUALLY MADE ME CRY! Congrats you two."
Former Bachelor star Holly Nicholson posted, "OMG OMG THIS IS THE BEST. Congratulations," while her husband Jimmy Nicholson, who also appeared on the reality franchise, added: "Yes! So happy for you guys. Cute baby incoming." Ramona Agruma-Wilson, the wife of actress Rebel Wilson, also celebrated the announcement, commenting: "Congratulations!"
Social media scrutiny and fertility struggles
The pregnancy news comes after Hockley was forced to discuss her fertility struggles following online criticism regarding her decision to remain childfree after marriage. Hockley had previously shared glimpses of her lifestyle on social media, documenting international trips across Europe and various exotic locations alongside Siegrist.
One Instagram reel featured footage of the couple visiting far-flung destinations alongside text that read: "I'm 38. Married. Travel the world. No kids." The post generated public questions and criticism, prompting Hockley to address her personal situation in a social media message published in July.

In her July statement, Hockley addressed the persistent inquiries about starting a family. "Every day I get asked why I don't have kids, or if I am having them. That I am missing out. To that I say, I can't fall pregnant," she wrote.
Hockley stressed that her situation was not due to a lack of effort. "It's not for lack of trying, trust me. No harm is ever meant when people ask, I know that. And my answer might sound blunt," she wrote in the caption. "But we haven't been able to fall pregnant. This is just the truth of it."
She expressed solidarity with others experiencing similar challenges. "And anyone that struggles with infertility knows, it consumes your life and your thoughts. Because I also wonder when and if we will have kids. It truly is exhausting. So anyone going through it, I get it. I get you. I feel you. There's a lot of us!" she added.
Marriage and relocation to Italy
Hockley first gained public recognition on Australian reality television before building a career as a podcast host and media presenter. She co-hosts the popular Australian podcast Life Uncut alongside Laura Byrne. Siegrist is a Swiss professional soccer player who has played as a goalkeeper in European football leagues.
The couple tied the knot in June 2025 during a lavish ceremony in Bali, Indonesia. Following their wedding, they initially maintained a long-distance relationship while pursuing their respective professional commitments in Australia and abroad.
Hockley recently confirmed that she was relocating to Italy to reside with Siegrist. She announced the move in December during a conversation with her Life Uncut co-host Laura Byrne, explaining that moving to Europe was essential for spending more quality time together after trying to manage living apart.
