A tourist from the United Kingdom was found dead in his hotel room in Phuket after hanging a "do not disturb" sign on the door, according to The Sun.
The 41-year-old guest checked into the hotel on July 24 for a planned 10-day stay. Hotel staff said the sign appeared on his door starting July 27, so employees did not enter the room for several days.
Manager finds tourist unresponsive
On August 3, the hotel manager decided to check on the Briton, knocking on the door and getting no response. He entered the room and found the tourist lying motionless on the floor. Authorities believe the man died 12 to 24 hours before he was discovered, though an autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
