Audio equipment maker BOYA has launched the Notra Neo, a compact artificial intelligence voice recorder priced at $70. The new device arrives as a trimmed-down version of the original Notra recorder introduced by the company earlier in the year following strong consumer interest.
The device is built to capture ambient room audio while offering specialized modes for mobile telephone calls and wireless headsets. It enters the market as artificial intelligence tools increasingly shift from smartphone applications into dedicated portable hardware designed for note-taking and voice transcription.
The compact recording device is equipped with two Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) microphones capable of capturing audio in a 360-degree radius. It can pick up clear sound from distances of up to five meters while using onboard artificial intelligence software to provide up to 30 decibels of active noise cancellation.
Designed for versatile audio capture, the unit records surrounding environmental audio, connects to Bluetooth headphones, and syncs with mobile devices to record phone calls. The casing features MagSafe compatibility, allowing users to snap the recorder magnetically onto the back of compatible smartphones for recording mobile calls and meetings.
Storage, Battery Life, and Cloud Connectivity
The hardware includes 8GB of internal storage capacity, which holds up to 1,000 hours of recorded audio. Power is supplied by an internal battery offering up to 20 hours of continuous active recording or up to 365 days of standby time. The battery recharges fully in 1.5 hours using a standard USB Type-C port.
In addition to local storage, the device supports unlimited cloud recording. Integrated Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity allow audio files to upload automatically to remote cloud storage servers, preserving local memory during extended recording sessions.
Artificial Intelligence Features and Software Tools
On the software side, the Notra Neo incorporates artificial intelligence tools capable of transcribing spoken audio into written text across 140 different languages. The software includes speaker detection to distinguish between individual voices in group settings and automatically formats searchable text files for easy reference.
Additional software capabilities include automated summary generation and mind-map creation from recorded discussions. An integrated artificial intelligence assistant allows users to search for specific conversation details across past recordings, supported by approximately 60 pre-formatted note templates for meetings and interviews.
