How to get perfect makeup in just 10 minutes

Don’t have time in the morning and want to wear perfect makeup every day? Professional makeup artist Cristina Lobato recommends incorporating these 10 steps into your daily routine to look flawless 24/7.

Prepare the skin

Don’t skip a step, you need cleanser, toner, serum, eye contour, moisturizer and lip balm. “It is very important that all these care products are specific to your skin type. A cared for, balanced and prepared skin is the best blank canvas to start with make-up,” explains the makeup artist.

concealer

Corrects dyschromias or skin color changes caused by sun spots, pimples or dark circles. The first step of the step for a perfect make-up. Apply concealer before the foundation as there may be areas that you need to cover with shades that you need to neutralize with the foundation so that the color contrasts don’t show. Apply concealer to the areas with the most imperfections, in small amounts and with your fingertips so that it blends perfectly with your skin.

Dark Circles: Covers dark circles depending on their intensity or tonality. From the most beige tones to the most salmon or orange for the darkest under-eye circles.

Makeup BASIC

The shade of the base should be as close as possible to the tone or undertone of the skin:

  • cool undertones: Skin that reddens easily, is reactive or sensitive to the sun. They are thin skins, light and pink.
The most suitable foundation for this skin type are pink undertones.
  • warm undertone: Skins with yellowish or golden pigmentation. The vast majority of Hispanic women fall into this classification because they tend to be warmer.
The right makeup base for this type of skin is a yellow undertone.
  • Neutral undertone: Skins that may show areas of different pigmentations. They are more beige skins.
The suitable make-up base for this skin type is a beige undertone.

Illuminator

Highlight with low-coverage concealers or corrective highlighters.

  • Liquid Highlighters: apply hydrating highlighters and light, sheer coverage with a soft pearly veil. We always apply the illuminator in the upper part of the cheekbone towards the temple, nose and chin. As long as, given your skin type on these last two points, there are no conflicting areas regarding the glow produced by fat.
  • Powder Highlighters: these are usually slightly brighter than the liquid ones, as they generally have a higher pigment concentration. The makeup artist recommends using them during the hours with less sunlight or in environments with warmer lights.

As for the shades, for warmer skins Cristina recommends most bronze shades or with more golden shades. And for those who are cooler/paler, they can opt for more pink tones in addition to the light gold tones.

Powder

Responsible for sealing the entire base and extending the duration of the makeup. We will also matify depending on the taste of each. For example, it nuances conflicting areas such as the T-zone.

Eyes makeup

Apply a primer to extend the duration of the shadows and enhance the color. Make-up with eyeshadow as desired. Then apply the mascara and eyebrows. If you don’t like the makeup eyebrow, clean it with a cotton swab and micellar water in case there are traces of makeup base.

sun powder

To avoid unwanted effects when applying sunscreen, choose a maximum of one or two shades above your own skin tone.

Rouge

For very fair skin, the best option is to choose ultra-light satin powder with pale pink or peach shades. On the other hand, for medium/dark skin you can use matte or iridescent, both are flattering. It will depend more on your personal taste. When choosing iridescent shades, the most flattering ones are, in this case, ocher and gold tones.

Lip

You can choose a primer to soften the lip and extend the duration of the color. Also, if you have expression lines or if the contours are not very defined, the primer will prevent the lipstick from moving.

face mist

The finishing touch you need to set or refresh makeup whenever you want.
