Supermodel Adriana Lima may have undergone an endoscopic forehead lift to alter her eyebrow position, plastic surgeon Aleksandr Katkov said in an interview published by Russian news outlet Gazeta.Ru.
Katkov said the 45-year-old former Victoria's Secret model appears to have received multiple cosmetic treatments, including nose reshaping and cheek volume reduction, which could have all been completed during a single surgical session.
Katkov pointed to noticeable changes in the shape and placement of Lima's eyebrows as evidence of an endoscopic brow lift. He explained that during this procedure, a surgeon makes three to four small punctures measuring 1.5 to 2 centimeters within the hair-bearing part of the scalp, leaving no visible scars. He added that specialized endoscopic equipment allows surgeons to perform the operation without making large incisions.
An endoscopic forehead lift is a cosmetic procedure that raises sagging eyebrows and smooths forehead lines. By inserting a microscopic camera and tiny surgical instruments through concealed scalp cuts, surgeons can adjust underlying muscles and skin tissue while keeping post-operative scarring hidden.
Nose reshaping and cheek contouring
Katkov also highlighted changes to the bridge and tip of the model's nose, noting that the bridge has become narrower. He said that rhinoplasty allows for the narrowing of the nasal bridge, while tip surgery alters both the projection of the nose and the angle between the nose and the upper lip.
Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure designed to modify the bone and cartilage of the nose to reshape its outline or improve airflow. Narrowing the bridge and refining the tip are common aesthetic modifications used to refine facial symmetry.
Furthermore, Katkov observed pronounced hollows under Lima's cheekbones, which he said suggest the removal of buccal fat pads, also known as Bishat's lumps. Buccal fat pad extraction is a procedure that removes deep fat tissue from the cheeks to highlight the cheekbones and sharpen the lower face.
Katkov emphasized that a surgeon can carry out all of these facial corrections at one time during a single procedure.
Public reaction in Paris
The surgeon's comments follow public concern earlier in October, when video footage of Lima's new appearance alarmed viewers online. The model was recorded while attending a party hosted by fashion clothing brand Revolve in Paris.
Lima achieved international fame as a prominent Victoria's Secret Angel, modeling for the American lingerie giant for nearly two decades.
