Guarda Nacional Republicana officers have arrested a 21-year-old man for possessing prohibited weapons during a traffic stop in Vila Nova da Caparica, Almada.
The suspect was traveling in the passenger seat of a vehicle when military personnel intercepted the car on the night of Saturday, October 3.
GNR officers reported that the passenger displayed suspicious behavior as they approached the vehicle, prompting them to conduct a personal security search.
During the search, officers confiscated two bladed weapons, two airsoft guns, two magazines, a silencer and a baton.

Following the seizure, the 21-year-old was arrested and formally declared an arguido, a legal status in Portugal designating an official suspect in a criminal investigation. He was later released from custody, and the case details were transferred to the Judicial Court of Almada.
