An extraordinary treasure trove of royal artifacts, including a pair of Queen Victoria shorts, will go up for auction later this month.

The collection of unique items includes the wedding cake of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Charles and Camilla, letters signed by several monarchs, and Princess Margaret’s pill boxes.

Princess Margaret’s enamel patch boxes and pill boxes are up for grabs and are expected to cost around £1,500.

An autographed photo of Margaret, taken by her photographer husband, David-Armstrong Jones, in the arms of the princess with their youngest daughter, Lady Sarah Chatto, is expected to earn up to £400.

There are also a number of letters signed by royalty such as Prince George, Duke of Kent, King William IV and King George V.

A box of enamel patches and three enamel pill boxes belonging to Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon is expected to cost up to £1,500.

The red wax seal of the Duchy of Lancaster from Queen Victoria’s reign will also be on sale.

An autographed photo of Margaret’s photographer, husband David-Armstrong Jones, with their youngest daughter, Lady Sarah Chatto, in the arms of the princess is expected to earn up to £400.

Very rare items will go up for auction on May 31, with a few days left for hopefuls to see the item before bidding.

The auction is titled “Happy and Glorious: Royal Sale” and is hosted by Chiswick Auctions.

“In this special sale, Chiswick Auctions will be presenting a wide variety of royal memorabilia from the last century,” the auctioneer said.
