There’s no better way to say “yes” in Middle Earth than to have Elijah Wood will show up at your wedding in Hobbiville. That’s exactly what happened to one lucky couple in New Zealand who hosted a full event The Lord of the Ringsthemed ceremony – and finally received the surprise of a lifetime from Frodo Baggins himself.
A viral video capturing the moment shows Wood sneaking up on the couple as they exchanged vows on the set of the film Hobbiton. Everyone at the ceremony was dressed in Hobbit-inspired costumes, surrounded by the rolling green hills that movie fans instantly recognize.
But fantasy became reality when the LOTR star casually walked in, turning the peaceful ceremony into a moment of pure magic.
The reactions of the spouses said it all. As soon as they spotted Wood, their jaws dropped, and guests quickly followed their gaze before bursting into applause. Actor Wood joined the celebrations, congratulated the couple and took photos with the ecstatic newlyweds before saying goodbye and rushing off to allow them to continue their big day.
Wood is also gearing up for his next big screen project, the upcoming horror comedy Ready or not 2: Here I amnext to Sarah Michelle Gellar, Kevin DurandAND David Cronenberg. Wood was also recently seen in the 2025 horror film The Monkey.
