Walton Goggins joins Amber Midthunder in the action thriller PAINTER produced by James Cameron

Walton Goggins AND Amber Halftone are teaming up for an intense new action film titled Painterwhich was just acquired by 20th Century Studios.

The project is born Derek Kolstadthe creative mind behind it John Wickand it’s already shaping up to be something special James Cameron step in as executive producer.

The film marks the directorial debut of Garrett Warrena veteran stunt coordinator who worked alongside Cameron in Avatars films, as well as action blockbusters like Logan and the recent ones Street house restart.

Painter follows a young woman trained since childhood to survive and fight. When her father is kidnapped, she must use all the skills she’s learned to bring him home. Midthunder, which impressed the audience Preyshe plays the daughter, while Goggins takes on the father’s role.

The film first made headlines last year at the American Film Market, when FilmNation introduced it as part of its sales program. Its mix of gritty action and emotional stakes quickly attracted attention, eventually catching the attention of James Cameron, who helped bring it to 20th Century Studios.

Originally, Alan Ritchson (Reacher) was supposed to star alongside Midthunder, but had to abandon the project due to scheduling conflicts.

Midthunder recently shared the screen with Jack Quaid in the Paramount action film Novocaine and starred in the A24 thriller Opus next to Ayo Edebiri AND John Malkovich. Next, he will take on a major role in Prime Video’s upcoming Stephen King adaptation series Carrie.

As for Goggins, he’s having a strong career. His performance in HBO’s third season The White Lotus earned him an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.

It also concluded the final season of The precious stones of the righteous and acted The uninviteddirected by his wife Nadia Connerspremiered at SXSW. And fans won’t have to wait long to see him again as he returns as the Ghoul in the highly anticipated second season of Amazon’s hit series. Fallpremiering December 17th.
