CMT Music Awards adds Kane Brown as Covid-positive Kelsea Ballerini as a co-host from home

Kelsey Ballerini, singer-songwriter who co-hosted the CMT Music Awards tonight, announced this morning that she will be performing her duties from home following a positive statement about Covid two days ago.

The CMT Awards also announced today that this year’s top nominee, Kane Brown, will join the dancer and Anthony Mackie as co-hosts.

The dancer said in her Instagram video, see below, that she has both good and bad news to share: “Unfortunately I can’t be there in person anymore and I’m devastated, tired,” she said. “But the good news is that I feel much better, much better.” She said the CMT brought a partial kit to her home so that she could host it remotely.

“Let’s make a lemonade with these sour lemons,” said the dancer.

The Country Music Awards show will air live from Nashville tonight at 8pm ET / Late PT and will be broadcast live and on demand on Paramount +.

The last three nominees for the 2022 Video of the Year award were also announced today, with fan voting already unlocked via Twitter. The candidates are:

Jason Aldin and Carrie Underwood – “If You Didn’t Love Me” (#VoteJasonCarrieCMT)
Kane Brown – “To Mississippi” (#VoteKaneCMT)
